I'm sure you've all been wondering what is going on at the Stavesacre Foundation as of late. The fact of the matter is, Stavesacre as we know it, is done. There is no tragic "Behind the Music" story. We all love each other, and you, as much as we ever have. We just feel that after an incredible 11 year run, it is time to close this particular chapter in our rock and roll journey. You may be asking yourself "so what the heck have you guys been up to?" The answer is, trying to think of the best way to say "thank you" to all of you wonderful people that have been so good to us since the beginning. We have had countless conversations and have come up with a few ideas that we think will be the best bookend to our illustrious "career". Everything is in an extremely embryonic stage at this point, but here's the skinny: we will be writing and recording some new music with a very good friend of ours, Jeff Bellew. Jeff is obviously a huge part of the Stavesacre story and it just seems right to close the book with him back in the fold. We will also be compiling a career spanning DVD that will hopefully involve anyone who's had anything to do with our band. All of this will culminate in a handful of shows to say goodbye. The 5 of us are incredibly excited and can't wait for you to hear the rock. Sorry for the radio silence...more to come...

(crud, lost my old profile – it doesn’t even remember me. Foo.)
Like Nate, I don’t even know what to say, other than I am pretty upset. Not at the band – if they do not feel that they can continue to produce songs, then that is ok. (Can’t be upset at that – who wants to hear albums full of halfass songs that aren’t….. Stavesacre?) but just that it’s over.
I’ve never done it to the band when I’ve seen them in person, but in the possibility of the band ever hears, I am going to be one of Those Fans for a moment.
I’ve been a Believer for a long time, but I’ve always hated (with a passion) “Christian music”. As a whole, it is trite, it is contrived, it is shallow. Most of it makes a mockery of Christian beliefs.
There have been two and only two bands in this genre that I have ever heard that I can really even tolerate. And they are two of my favorite bands of all time. (Mortal and Stavesacre)
Your music is awesome, and you always pour your hearts out on the stage, which I really appreciate. But most of all, I appreciate the lyrics. I appreciate having albums that I can pop in when I need reminding of just how immense, just how powerful, just how GOOD our God is.
During a time of ridiculous lows in my life a few years ago, the ‘Acre was a lifeline to me. A reminder of all the things I mentioned above about our God. A pointer, if you will, to the ray of light of His hand. A kick in the ass when I was thinking on the earthly when I shouldn’t have been.
That means more to me than I can ever convey over a text medium.
What I would really like to say to the whole band is:
Gentlemen, thank you. Thank you so much.
Indirectly (and as weird as it seems), you guys spoke to me many times through the music and encouraged my Walk. I don’t know of a higher compliment, so I will leave it at that.
Peace, brothers.

This is pretty much what I expected the big announcement to be. So while it does suck, it's not really much of a shock. This feels like one of those "i knew it was coming, so i had time to prepare" kind of things. Best of luck in your future endeavours.

I am not really saddened by the break-up news because I have assumed it for at least six months now. But what I am surprised by, and most excited by, is that the band is going to record with Jeff again- woo hoo! Bring on the new tunes!

But what I am surprised by, and most excited by, is that the band is going to record with Jeff again- woo hoo! Bring on the new tunes! I to am sadened by the news of the end but also excited by the celebration of it. What better way to celebrate every song, every person and every thing that Stavesacre has touched, accomplished and done than to bring back an important member and do a "once and for all"? That new music and DVD will be an incredible way to celebrate the band. I'm so thankful that you guys choose to do this for the last 11 years. This is some of my favorite music in the world. Thank you guys SO much! My God bless the rest of you days! Chris

But what I am surprised by, and most excited by, is that the band is going to record with Jeff again- woo hoo! Bring on the new tunes! This, too, greatly softened the blow. Stavesacre will, for a short while, be a five man band again. Un-freaking-believable.

I'm completely happy that they're at least doing one more cd. I can't not wait. I will say this that I'm hoping that they will still be coming out with more shirts and what not. Or they don't have to tour, but put out cds every once awhile, whether they tour or not. I say we should UNIT AND AT LEAST ASK FOR THAT!

Wow, I just get on this message board and what happens? My first post is in the thread announcing the end. How ironic, especially given my username! Anyway, I must say that I am deeply thankful to everyone in Stavesacre for all the awesome music throughout the years. I've been a fan since Friction, and I've loved every minute of it. As far as the last show goes, where do I sign for tickets?

After the deep sinking depression and agony wears off, I'm pretty sure my life will go on. I'm grateful to the lengths which Mark, Sam, Ryan, and Dirk are going to makes sure they end things right. They didn't NEED to do what they're doing, but it shows their character in my opinion. In reality, I don't believe they owe us anything. I think they gave quite richly, by means of their creativity, their years, and their talent. My opinion only, though. Anyone can disagree.

Said it on MySpace, I'll say it here. You will be greatly missed as you were a big part of my life for a lot of years. Selfishly, I REALLY want to see a farewell tour. You guys are a very talented bunch that I will never forget.

The announcement seems like it has been a decade in the waiting for me. This is just my opinion but Stavesacre’s last good album was Absolutes. When Jeff left the band the Stavesacre I knew ceased to exist. I have seen people oooh & ahhhh over Speakeasy, the self titled album and HTLWAC but none of them touched the first two albums as far as creativity and raw emotion goes. I come from a metal/hardcore background so I just couldn't understand their drastic change after Absolutes. Hey, I can appreciate & enjoy a ballad just as much as the next guy but Stavesacre’s first two albums were a natural progression from The Crucified. If I could watch one more Stavesacre show where they only played tracks from the first two albums, it might be the best show ever. When I first heard Colt .45 I thought it would be impossible for Stavesacre not to become a huge band. Unfortunately Colts .45 was the pinnacle of their career. Maybe Jeff’s influence will finally produce some Stavesacre tracks worth jamming on my stereo. Something that hasn’t happened since Absolutes. I hope there are still some original Stavesacre fans out there that feel the way I do, or are we all too old (33)?

33, fan from the first album, and feel that the best stuff started at Speakeasy and culminated in HTLWAC.
