The stryper thing --- well, that's what a deposit is. As a promoter, you don't get it back. Obviously it's a messy issue and Stryper seemed like chumps, but by the same token, if the promoters of the gig weren't living up to the specifications of Stryper's contract, then Stryper would have been within their rights to say "Whoa whoa. We signed a contract, and you're not living up to it." Not that simple, not in this case. Check this out: christianmusic.about.com/od/editorials/a/aastryperrevolu.htm

Very true. Business-wise, Stryper is "right." Ethically... you have to question it. Anyways.
Man, this board died once Neon Horse came out and ... did nothing. Sigh. I was hoping for a tour or some sort of T&N push, but obviously it's just a record and nothing more. Fun but you know. Any news on the final Stavesacre release?

Could not agree more, what a let down on T&N's part. A good cd, something different and nothing to show for it. Not even a tour. At least we got a crazy video out of it, right?

Ditto...the Cuckoo video came out, built some momentum, and then there has been complete silence for several weeks. It's eerily similar to the quick fizzle HTLWAC experienced after its release.

Difference being HTLWAC deserved a much wider audience than it received. After many more listens it has moved up my list of fav Stavesacre albums and rivals their first 2. Neon Horse, OTOH, is (was) a novelty doomed to a short life from the get-go. Now that the Horse appears dead, get back to work on some great final Stave songs!

damn right HTLWAC deserved a wider audience. it seems to me that stavesacre got shafted on that release. it is a really strong album, but the bands that deserve recognition rarely get it, y'know?

Yeah, HTLWAC is my favorite Stavesacre album, and it deserved a lot more attention. To me, Stavesacre is the most underrated band in my "catalog"; but that is part of what makes them special to me. The fact that the world never caught on to them blows me away, but it makes me feel good to know that I did.
On another note, Neon Horse (a new favorite of mine) is not dead, they've just released a demo from an upcoming release on their myspace, go check it out!!!

Wow.. I've been under a rock since joining the Army.
Sorry to see you go Stavesacre. I'll be looking to see where all you guys end up (in different bands I suppose)
Who is this Neon Horse? I'll have to check them out.

Major surprise to see the board back up, every time I tried to view it was gone, so I finally just gave up. Now time to catch up. I knew aimless surfing would pay off!

Hey All, I haven't been here in forever, but I just got the new cd/dvd/shirt, so I wanted to pop in and say hello. I'm curious about something too. Prior to getting the new stuff (really good, btw!), I just assumed that this was Stavesacre's finale, but after watching the dvd, I'm not sure. It seemed like whether or not Stavesacre has a future remains an open question. That was my impression, at least. Can anybody tell me if Stavesacre is truly finished, or might there be more shows and albums yet to come?

Can anybody tell me if Stavesacre is truly finished, or might there be more shows and albums yet to come? Heh, dude, I don't know if Stavesacre could tell you if they're truly finished or not. My impression is that they're gonna see what happens. Music is in these guys' blood...it's their passion. They can walk away from it...for a time but they'll always come back to it in some form. Whether or not that's as Stavesacre touring and releasing albums/ep's or just them hanging out from time to time jamming and saying "hey man, check out this riff/lyric/beat" and it going no further than that only God knows. I'd love for this to be a comeback of sorts but not if it was something the band DIDNT want. In today's headlines: Stavesacre - the most underrated band of our time - has started their own label and everything will be self-produced and released on a bi-yearly schedule. In other news, swine have sprouted wings and are taking to the skies! ;D
