Maybe Jeff’s influence will finally produce some Stavesacre tracks worth jamming on my stereo. Something that hasn’t happened since Absolutes. I hope there are still some original Stavesacre fans out there that feel the way I do, or are we all too old (33)? I'm an aging 'original' fan (31), and I *almost* agree with you. I never bought their s/t album (due to reading fan reviews), but have the rest of their full-length records. While I wouldn't put down the later records as strongly as you, I would also rate the first two as by far the best. My rankings: 1. Friction 1. Absolutes (tie) 3. Speakeasy - I think it's nearly as good 4. HTLWAC 5. s/t - I guess. I haven't heard it. Overall, Stavesacre's audience's tastes cut a fairly wide swath thru thrash, hardcore, metal, hard rock and even the more emotive types of alt rock. Which you think could've parlayed into more popularity than they 'enjoyed'. Stave Dudes, you WILL be missed. I saw you at C-stone in the late 90's a time or two. ENERGETIC show for sure - the band AND the crowd! And also in Elgin, IL outside Chi-town.

All I can say is, I'm glad I got to tell Mark in person how I felt. It's been interesting listening to how other people have felt. Being here at this msg board has let me know that It wasn't just my life touch by this band. Thank you Stavesacre. Your one of the few bands that I have never burnt out on. Your music will always have a place in my heart and home.

I'm grateful to the lengths which Mark, Sam, Ryan, and Dirk are going to makes sure they end things right. They didn't NEED to do what they're doing, but it shows their character in my opinion. In reality, I don't believe they owe us anything. I think they gave quite richly, by means of their creativity, their years, and their talent. My opinion only, though. Anyone can disagree. I agree completely but I'm glad that the guys are doing what they're doing.

This is the point where we start begging for songs in the final set list.
That is, EVERY SINGLE SONG.
I'm really not looking forward to saying goodbye yet. It only seems like yesterday when I was a 16 year old who decided upon hearing Threshold for the first time that I wanted to start playing guitar and play just like Jeff.

I'm speechless....I have been a fan since Friction & my first 1995 show. There are no words to describe how my heart hurts to see Stavesacre end their beautiful music. Yet, I'm stoked about Jeff coming back and for the farewell tour. Maybe I'll even go to every concert. Who's up for that? God Bless you guys and every song you've ever written...'cause they've impacted my life in ways words cannot express.
I'm going to go hide under some wings of gold and silver now...and just weep.

It's disappointing to hear but after the lack of a tour to support HTLWAC, you had to see this coming. You guys made some unbelievable music and you will be missed. I'm hoping that some of the farewell shows make it to the Eastern part of the continent. I never got a chance to see the band live and was really hoping for that to happen before this announcement.

I was suprised at how hard this announcement hit me. Your music really became a part of a lot of people's life and that wont change. Through the sadness, I just want to thank you guys for pouring yourself into your music and creating the best and most meaningful songs I will ever hear. I cant believe its over. Please come somewhere near the Midwest. Being a poor college student Im limited to within an 8 hour radius of Ohio. Thanks again..Much love brothers

Man, so I'm sorry, and maybe this comment will get banned. I'm just putting it out there. Dude, Abacus. What up with that? I'm not gonna say any more...

I would like to thank Mark, Dirk, Sam, Ryan, Jeff, Neil and even Jeremy for music that continues to be life-changing and life-affirming. It is the rare band that stays together 11 years; congratulations to you all for enduring this far. Thank you for the depth of artistry, love and care you put into every song and every show. I look forward to the final hurrah...

Hello, all. It's been a long time since I've stopped by - which is really bad of me - but I just thought I'd stop in to say thanks. I wasn't even registered in here any more! So: Thanks. You guys have been so much more than supportive over the years, and I really can't express at this time what that means to me - plus, I'm tired. This decision has been a long time coming, we just had to wait for the dust to clear on our Abacus situation. Anyhow, I'll stop by soon and leave more than this sad little excuse of a note, but I just felt compelled to let you know that your love and support have been a great comfort, and we're so happy to have both to fall back on. Talk to you soon, m. Feel free to stop by and say hello at www.myspace.com/mrsalamanderit's much easier to manage for me these days - for a rock and roll star I make a halfway decent waiter/bartender/wannabe-writer. Again, my deepest appreciation goes out to all of you. And things do get better, you know...

Good to hear from you, man. I saw you live 2 or 3 times and always enjoyed it.
Just recently picked up HTLWAC and I gotta say: it's another fine piece of art from y'all.
And if you ARE able to add Jeff's talents to another couple new songs - MAN, Ryan and Jeff together would be a sound to behold.
Good luck and God's blessings on your future endeavors!

I got to say, hope you get to do a show in Northern California, I have never seen you guys in concert (well, live in concert and not bootlegged video) *cough.*
You make for more than a halfway decent wannabe-writer! Simplicity is a book that I found quite a fun/sad/eye opening read. We're talking three-fifths or three-quarters decent. Are you still writing?

Thank you, Stavesacre, for some of the greatest songs I'll ever hear.
To Mark in particular: I'll forever appreciate the thought and care you put into every single word you wrote.
Peace. -Andy
