In no particular order: Thrice Vheissu The Bled Found In The Flood Still Remains Of Love And Lunacy Roadrunner United The All Star Sessions (so much metal your face will explode! Alice In Chains Alice In Chains and Jar Of Flies Nickel Creek This Side Any and all of Fiona Apple's catalog
I also have been listening to a lot of random Nine Inch Nails, Killswitch Engage, Velvet Underground, Concrete Blonde... stuff like that. Heh. I have about 5200 songs on my iTunes playlist, so I end up listening to a lot of random stuff.

I lost track of Pete Stewart after his solo album. That was the one with his face and a toy dumptruck on the front I think. But yeah, Grammatrain could've been really big if they'd stuck with it. Or at least, they should've been. And yes, yes. "Next to me" is on one of my mixes. Great song. "Two years to never" is a fantastic album. I remember people used to always want them to play their old stuff. Losers. Stop living in the past man. Thanks for the info about him and Marcos. Maybe I'll check it out. And you can call me Ben

Or at least, they should've been. When I listened to their sophomore album a couple years ago, I kept hearing hints of what Audioslave did on their own debut. Yeah, I really thought highly of their music. Dalton was a very very good bassist. I wonder what he's up to musically these days. I'm digging Accident Experiment a lot (even though I think the band name is pretty generic). I think it's great that Pete and Marcos broke free into the mainstream.

wait a sec...
Pete Stewart is in Accident Experiment?
Ok, I just confirmed this on the net. I'm surprised I haven't heard that. Interesting.

Just got a copy of John Reuben's newest. It's quite good. Very nice to see him continually maturing in his writing.

You Grammatrain fans might be interested in checking out The Illustrated Band. Check out www.theillustratedband.com. Paul Roraback is their drummer. These guys are responsible for what is the best album of 2005 in my book.

I also liked Pete Stewart with "Tait". Saw them 1 time with Mr. Stewart, a couple of times with the lineup on the second CD, and will probably go see them with whatever new lineup Michael comes up with.

before i went into the hospital my playlist consisted of 'kill my darlings' 'better days' (by the goo goo dolls...excellent song....really gets you in the heart), a couple songs off the new thrice cd and a couple songs off the new lagwagon cd. the new relient k ep (which really surprised me by how good it was) was getting played to. i took the longest drive ever before i went in and just listened to the same like 8 songs over and over. it was beautiful.
since i've come home, the only thing i've wanted to listen to is the last song on the new underoath cd. anyone else like the song? i can't think of its title right now. but it's the song which the lead singer from copeland sings on to. the song just takes you for a ride. something about the whole "i'm coming home" is probably what's been drawing me to it.

My top, current, five in random order, aka alphabetical:
Earthsuit - The Rise of Modern Simulation Finch - Say Hello to Sunshine Plankeye - Strange Exchange & Relocation Spoken - Last Chance to Breathe
I keep hearing about Thrice, and come $10 I think I'll head out and get it. What is the best CD to buy to enter in to the realm of Starflyer 59?

This is your lucky day! The band wanted to get their music out after the split so they encouraged everyone to spread the CD as a tribute to their fans: www.tisd.net/~garrettj/Go to the "password protected area" and enter "smokingpotassium". You will find anything and everything Earthsuit here, minus Kaleidoscope Superior. The CD is mostly hidden-track type material, although there are five *new* full songs. You may remember 123; it was one of the world's most beautiful/repetitive songs ever.

September 2005... wait...
Actually, the new rumor is February '06, but I wouldn't be suprised if that changed to May or some other, later month.
