Mark had started Outer Circle with Kevin before Stavesacre came to be. It's just that Outer Circle wasn't his main project and thus the band did one show at Cornerstone'02 and released the one cd.

It's not as if musicians don't regularly work on multiple projects in similar timeframes. We'll see. Like Demon Hunter, the mystery of the band's members will be revealed soon enough. Either way I enjoy the tune.

I tend to think it isn't him. I'd also prefer to think he isn't in a new project with music that I really can't enjoy at all. LOL!!! my thoughts exactly!

The Starflyer 59 vibe is pretty obvious. The vocals are pretty twisted. But it's clearly Mark. He's thrown us a curveball.

What I mean to say is: If you combined Jason Martin and Mark Salomon and a big dose of laughs, what you get is Neon Horse.

I just started a thread on this in "stavesacre" because I just realized the same thing. I'm sorry I didn't recongize this thread before. BUT I SERIOUSLY THINK IT IS MARK VOCALS! IT SOUNDS SO MUCH LIKE HIM! And he likes music like this. I wouldn't doubt if it is him. I hope it is!

True or not, I really like that Mark Soloman + Jason Martin theory...
Because, yeah, now that someone mentioned it, the hooks for both songs on the myspace page sound like they could have come right off either the Bros. Martin cd or the last SF59 cd.
I'll tell you what- either way the music sound greatI'm definitely checking this cd out. I can't think of a time before when I've been excited about a band I'd basically never heard of before.

I read the above interview and it sounds a whole lot like Mark. The same ideas about music, such as playing the music he's interested in and hopefully people who hear it will like it. If you take one of Mark's old interviews and compare it to this one I think you'll find surprising similarities. Even the bio of Neonhorse sounds like Mark. The whole working class musician thing (which I think he mentioned in Simplicity). I wouldn't be shocked if he wrote the bio (assuming that he is really apart of the band). As far as the music goes, it sounds like the direction Mark would've wanted to go without carrying the expectations of Stavesacre's history on his shoulders.
If Mark is really in this band then I can't possibly imagine why they would have him do back up vocals. With such powerful vocals why wouldn't they unleash them? Maybe it is the type of sound they're going for.
I geuss we'll find out everything in due time. If we have to we can always go to a live show

I thought it was him doing back-up and chorus stuff, but listening to "cuckoo" I wonder if he isn't doing all of it?! Could just be production tricks, but it sounds like the "main" vocalist gets into some Mark-style range as well. Very mysterious...

Yeah, "bartender" mention seems like a pretty interesting clue also.

Yeah, you know what- listening to Cuckoo again, and during the vs. it almost sounds like it could be Mark doing a weird voice- and then at the end of the chorous where he holds out a note, and it sounds like it seamlessly transistions between the "Mark" voice and the "other guy" voice... almost as if they were the same voice .. hmmm

By this point, if NH is NOT a collaboration between Mark and SF59's Jason Martin, I will eat a steak. Actually, I'll do that anyways.
Curiouser and curiouser.

I'm also glad that someone notice the simularites between the weird voice and marks voices. Because they are many parts in the songs with the weird voice that are sung as if mark were singing, with some sort of voice manipulation. The structure of the contrasting vocals are too similar to Marks' style.
