Shankle - I'm not the hugest Roadside Monument fan, I like 'em good, but MAN I love the cd artwork you've got as your avatar right now.
ryanro- thanx, hands down that was one of their worst albums, but the best artwork ever. The only problem is I can not find the title of the piece. I talked with they guys at a show in Seattle they got it from a book, but none of the 3 knew the name. What a bummer.

i think the whole neon horse thing is pretty cool. I wonder if Mark knew we would all find out about his involvment? i agree w/ vineyardite about the authorship of the little bio, i bet dollars to donuts that mark wrote that. I wish him and the band all the best the music is fun and hopefully they can get a hit song, I hope we are all mature enough to let go of Stavesacre because it seems that neon horse is trying to leave their origins behind

Found this where you can preview clips of all the songs! www.thejesusunderground.com/p-NEO19.htmlI think it's pretty safe to say that it's Mark by this point. :lol I even am going to throw it out there that "Norman Horse" is entirely Mark. Maybe some guest vocals by others, but the bulk of the album seems to be our boy.

I'm with you. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the main vocals are entirely Mark. See 'Horsey' for evidence.

I just really didn't want to like this stuff. Honest. It's just that I can't help but to enjoy it.

I like it a lot, actually. Has a heavy classic rock vibe.

Why would you "not want to like this stuff?" Music is music, you like what you like. Not everything is going to be your cup of tea.

It definitely sounds like Jason Martin on guitar. He's had a lot of classic rock leanings lately. However, I can't see the main singer as Mark. The background singer, yeah.
Plus, this is a T&N project. Didn't they have a major problem with T&N?

Oh dang! I just had a though listening to the clips of those other songs. The lead vocalist sounds like the singer from Emergency. And we know Jason Martin was on guitar for that.

Yeah I'm sure of it now. That guy was a little crazy sometimes. Don't know his name though. Does anybody know who that was? The singer for Emergency/Enemy Ship?

I thought that also at first, but I think it's pretty definite that Mark is in the band. How many total members are there? 4 at most, it sounds like. Maybe only 3. One of the singers would then need to be playing an instrument. Does Mark play anything? If not, maybe Jason Martin is the other singer? To support my "Mark is Norman theory" is that its pretty easy to do spazzy vocals (not that I would really know or anything, besides years of singing along to Stavesacre in the car... lol), surely someone that has been around as long as Mark has in the profession can do it.
A leap? Perhaps.
But was Stavesacre a leap from the Crucified?
I think so. At least early Crucified.

After listening to the music some more I've come to agree with Wugmanmax that Mark is doing the whole thing. He deminstrated some similar vocals to this Norman guy in "you made it look so easy" and "lets sort this out right now".

I've seen a promotion poster advertising the band as a flesh and blood trio. Mark has lamented regularly that he can't play anything, so it might be a case of only being a trio in the studio (since J. Martin is certainly capable of recording EVERYTHING else). Unsure who the other main member is, and then a live band would probably end up a four-piece. Pretty excited for the album next week though.

They don't want people to know who's in the band because that might help sell the music. No touring either, 'cuz then we'd know who's in the band. Don't sell music. Blame it on a "curse". Break up. It's a new plan. It will probably work as envisioned.

I'm also glad that someone notice the simularites between the weird voice and marks voices. Because they are many parts in the songs with the weird voice that are sung as if mark were singing, with some sort of voice manipulation. The structure of the contrasting vocals are too similar to Marks' style. Didn't think so until I read this thread... Gotta admit, the line "‘Cause all else failed!" in Cuckoo sounds like a classic Mark scream - in the Norman voice. Interesting... Whether Mark is involved a little or a lot (or not at all, but that seems impossible), I'm totally digging these two songs and can't wait for the album.

Then again, more practically, if Mark is under contract with Abacus, perhaps if he is recording with a band, it legally needs to be with Abacus, so there needs to be deniability of his participation in neonhorse, and that's why he's disguised and hidden.
