Also, it dosen't make sence to me that the production on this Neon Horse thing is lightyears ahead of "HTLWAC". In the artwork it says the album is produced by 'Neon Horse', but I guarantee Aaron Sprinkle did the majority of the production and his work is always flawless. My hope is that Neon Horse performs for Tooth & Nail Day at Cornerstone.

Alex Albert is no longer listed as part of Project 86 on their myspace page.

P86 announced a few weeks ago that Alex left the group on good terms. No replacement has been announced yet. I'm not sure if Alex left post-recording the drums for the new disc or if a new drummer did it.

I was just listening to Crazy Daisy on the Horse's myspace, when I noticed that there was a distinctive resembalance between Dirk's bass in HTLWAC and the song's bass, as some people before were saying. It really stuck out at the end of the song. It would make sense that Dirk would be in the Horse since he was part of the bands of the two members that we're pretty sure are in the Horse.

So what are the "nearly 20" bands that the members were in?
For Mark we have: The Crucified Outer Circle Native Son Stavesacre
Does stuff like AP and AP2 count?

I don't think AP and AP2 count as they more of a one-off type projects even though the second was a "sequel".
Dirk would give us The Emergency and Focused. Jason would give SF59, Bon Voyage, Dance House Children and Brothers Martin. Sam would provide a few more bands. Scaterd Few, Violet Burning, Saviour Machine. Alex Albert was in Innermeans and P86. That's a total of 15.
Plus these guys were probably in much smaller projects from time to time as well that we've probably never heard of. But then again it's mostly speculation as to who's in or not. Personally, I think it's just kinda fun kicking around some names aside from Mark and Jason.

I don't think Chatterbox would count either.

I was also thinking, just from a "many bands" perspective, could Ethan Luck be in the band?

Two more for Jason Martin, unless I'm mistaken: Lassie Foundation Annie
there's probably gobs more I don't know about or don't recall.
Edit: BTW, I picked up the album and... I dunno. Just more goofball stuff than anything else. I'll give it another spin or three before I pan it, but it strikes me as mildly amusing at best - screwy weirdness with no particular point to it. If not for Mark and Jason's apparent involvement I'm sure I wouldn't have bought it in the first place.

I don't find the album screwy or weird at all. Songs are well structured and lyrics are top notch. Just cuz it's not 100% serious doesn't make it goofy (if ya ask me...).

To me the cd is not nothing ground breaking, but it does have some slightly inovative music, with some extremely clever written lyrics. I like the album alot. Very up beat with alot of dark meaning. Got to love the combo.

After a couple more spins, it's a little more fun. Jason Martin's guitar and Mark's vox are too obvious to be any other. I'm picking up AC/DC, Scaterd Few, Stavesacre, SF59 and maybe David Bowie stylings. Weird comparos? Anyone else have anything worth mentioning in that regard?
But the lyrics? Either I'm not cynical enough, or too cynical to get it. The gist seems to be 'We can write dumbass lyrics and STILL sell an album, just like thousands of other bands.'
If that's not it, then sorry, Mark, maybe I'm just stupid.
[Edit: not that there's no meaning whatsoever. A couple songs do have intelligible, meaningful lyrics. But not all, at least not to me.]

The last SF59 record, "My Island," was produced by Jason and it has similar sonic qualities. J. Martin is certainly capable of producing at that level... ah well.

Def. and the fact that he has a myspace dedicated entirely to his "recording / producing / mixing /mastering" makes it seem silly that he would even consider sourcing that out. www.myspace.com/jasonmartinrecording

Also, Aaron Sprinkle's production tends to lean towards a cleaner, more perfect sound, and Neon H's dirtier tone probably goes against his grain. Not that he couldn't do it if he wanted to, but ya know what I mean...

So when do we get to find out who the members are?
I feel like this is another Stavesacre album. Great tunes, but no tour. Bands don't get much money for CD's I want to give my money to the band. Tour so I can pay you Mark, for all of your hard work.

I'm hoping they'll be a tour. But just because they tour doesn't mean they'll be fourcoming about what the lineup actually is. Mark, I mean, er Norman will be in his freaky white outfit and everyone else will probably be wearing hats, shades, and fake moustaches.

HAHAH
Say, if the Horse does a show at one of the fests, some wiseguy could try booking a Stavesacre farewell show at the same time on another stage. "Err, ...mmm, that won't work, actually..."
