My first concert was U2 on the pop-mart tour (I guess that was 1997, and I was 16..?)
well, I guess there are a few "concerts" I'd gone to before that when I was a bit younger, like Michael W Smith and Newsboys, but I refuse to count those.

AMAZING. My first real, non-festival concert (which would have been Creation '95), was when Ghoti Hook, Stavesacre, and The OC Supertones played at Lancaster Mennonite Highschool. I, prior to the show, had not hear either Ghoti Hook or Stavesacre... I was there totally for the Supertones. Ghoti Hook went on stage (and my memory is fuzzy as to whether GH or Stavesacre opened) and played the entire show with their backs to the audience. This was, of course, back when they were pure pop punk without the later rock influences. I found them too hard for my taste. Then stavesacre when on and I didn't understand them at all. I think, in retrospect, I hated their set. I probably called them weird. Who knows? Then, of course, I loved The Supertones set. (I'm pretty sure this was after The Supertones Strike Back was released... it was that general era, anyway.) Ah, to be dumb and in middle school again. *sigh*

wow. you guys are making me feel old.
i'm not sure what my first concert ever was. i have an early memory as a child of seeing loretta lynn with my parents at some outdoor show. i was a small child. but i suppose that doesn't count. then in junior high, i saw a series of very CCMish shows: amy grant, degarmo & key, petra, and stryper. keep in mind this was the mid-80s. embarrassing, no? i recently discovered that the guitarist for the artist opening for d&k (morgan cryer) was ty tabor of king's x and i actually have a signature from him on a album (vinyl) that i bought at the show.
anyway, it was right after that that my musical tastes started changing and i started listening to more of a "modern rock" bent...think mike knott (lsu), the cure, the choir, etc. then by late high school and into college, i really discovered punk and hardcore. then my first real punk/HC show was seeing Crashdog and the Lead at Cstone '90.

Sandi Patti. Rockford, IL. Probably around 1993. Ouch.. ha! so ... a picture of the love i feel for my mom: i agreed to acccompany her to a sandi patti show. my mom loved her back then (late 80s?) and didn't want to go alone. now, a picture of Mercy: my mom gets tired and decides to leave midway through.

Yeah, but if I recall correctly, my second concert was Degarmo and Key with DC Talk opening up. YUUUUUUUCK! That was awful. oh man....and more admitting to embarrassing things. 'k. the d&k show with dc talk. i saw that tour (at wheaton, il) with my youth group. it was the first real date i had with my wife. well...we were in high school at the time, but she's now my wife. jeez, that was 17+ years ago. and my stryper experience was on the Soldiers Under Command tour. yep...still have that on white vinyl. sweet....

I'd love to see Michael Knott live... at least, a sober Michael Knott live. I've had a healthy obsession with his music for a number of years... dating back to the first Browbeats cd (which I still think is one of the greatest Christian alternative compilations ever). Oh-- And I wish I had old memories of seeing Loretta Lynn live... I have a ton of respect for that lady.

I've seen Michael Knott live. He was 150% stage presence. Not a great guitarist or singer or anything, but wow. Small venue, only about 100 people. Miranda Stone opened for him.

My three first was: 1. Blindside supporting P.O.D Stockholm Sweden - It's always fun when the supporting bands rock the headband. 2. Mago in kulturhuset Stockholm Sweden - Industial music live rocks. 3. Khoma's first show supporting Blindside Stockholm Sweden - This time it was Khoma that was better than Blindside.
