Man, their self-titled cd totally bowled me over. It's really really good.
Definitely one of the best CCM releases last year. Too bad Gotee Records is going to make them the laughing stock of the CCM world now by releasing a "best of" album. Seriously, I looked at the track listing and it's the exact same thing as "self titled" only with 2 or 3 tracks from thier first album (and, not coicidently sans 2 or so tracks from self titled)... man. The industry bites.

I saw these guys at a Chicago show a couple of years ago. Hadn't heard of them prior, but they were pretty good.
So Gotee's releasing a "best of" album. I didn't know you could have a "best of" album when you've only released two cds. Labels will do anything to make a buck.

actually although their prior record (What You Want Is Now) although less in quality is simply mind-blowing - the writing! if you can find a copy, get it!

it's been a while since I listened to What You Want Is Now. I should break that out again.

The industry bites. they're possibly putting that out to fulfill contact obligations, but you're damn right they bite. doesn't Toby Mac (DC Talk) run Gotee? that's inherently lame, but if you care beyond that, gotee is owned by emi cmg, which is a division of emi, which is the 3rd largest recorded music company on earth (including all their "secular" labels/ artists www.emigroup.com/About/Music/Default.htm). the money all goes to the same place. i hope any ccm defenders out there keep that in mind. the money all goes to the same place. sure, the artists and low level labels get their cut, but even if you buy a dc talk cd, the money goes to forefront records, which is owned by virgin records, which is owned by Madonna. so much for supporting a positive alternative to the so called evil/popular/secular market. when will people realize there is no such thing as "christian music"? i saw an even better undeserved "best of" though: War. masterminds behind the megahits "Lowrider" and...uhm....uh... heh

You know what's lame about Gotee? They are releasing a dc Talk tribute album. Heh.
