Oh did I link the wrong song? Sorry, I'll change the original post so that it's to Physician Heal Thyself.

That's Russ singing, dude. He's not as rotund as when I last saw them in like '02. Hell of a show.

That would be Daniel Weyandt singing. Russ is out of the band due to marriage and knee surgery.

ZAO became uninterresting after Jessie Smith leaving. He was the one holding together the band. (BTW, their best album: S/T, rocks!)

The new songs are freak'n awsome! If you go to www.zaoonline.com you can watch interviews with Dan about the meanings of their songs. I freak'n love this band!

It seems like Dan is taking the vocals to a new level. I like what I'm hearing. I think I like the new stuff a little better that TFOG so far.

Zao is playing in Indianapolis Friday night at an old theater that hosts alot of concerts now. Staves played it years back. Our local paper, the Crawfordsville Journal-Review actually has a guy who does great reviews on bands like this. His review got me into the Nodes.

The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here is a phenomenal album and I might even go so far as to say that you have not seen Zao live unless you have seen them at some point in the past year. I have never and I mean NEVER been so blown away by live performances like I have been at Zao's shows since they wrote The Fear. Sure, I'll miss seeing Russ jump and land on his knees, but Marty and Jeff are incredibly fun to watch, Dan is as awesome as ever, and Scott is just...indescribably amazing as he plays. They have a newfound intensity and energy.

I've been scared lately for Zao's existence, them being my favorite Metal band and all, but I finally got some good news from myspace, a bulletin of theirs from about 2 weeks ago said that the band has not broken up. They're working on a new album, and plan to have some demos up shortly; which hopefully means they'll have an 08 release. They also plan on playing Cornerstone again this year, which would be reason enough to go.
