I just got it over the weekend, I have to say that it is one of the better band dvds. It has a documentry on the band, a concert, and all of the bands music videos.

Yeah, I'm really enjoying it. Very different, but aint that just Blindside's style? I love the techno moment on "My alibi" particularly. And "Put back the stars" is just gold.

yeah so far i've gotten a different feel from it. but all their cds seem so different in a way. i started listening to them really when "silence" came out. and that's much different then their previous stuff.
the back of the cd says it's drt entertainment so i'm assuming that is the label they're on? i just happened to be online i think one day and somewhere it was posted that their new cd was coming out. otherwise, i wouldn't have known myself.
i really want to see the dvd because i hear there's a video for 'about a burning fire.' that's one of my favorite songs by them and i'm aching to see what kind of video they'd have come up with. how is it?

I read somewhere -- actually on P.O.D.'s site -- that Blindside was no longer on that 3 Points label and had signed with a different label.

It says they recorded it in Stockholm. So that might explain the low publicity I dunno. I've been listening to it a lot and I really like it. My favorites so far are My Alibi, When I Remember, Fell in Love with the Game, and track 3 (the second song). Track 3 would be good for airplay I think.

This is how it is (i know Blindside in person When elektra got bought up by some other company (think it was warner) Blindside didnt wanna go with them, to a label they didnt sign to anyway. And they wanted a change from the kind of recordcompany people that they were tired of. So they got back to sweden, started their own label and was about to release it by their own, but then DRT came and wanted to help them, and Blindside thought they seemed ok, so they signed them and released it together. The album has got more promotion here in sweden, where they haven't been that well known until about now.. Be prepared though. I've heard some talking about a live album. Keep your eyes open. www.blindsideonline.com/MA

Hey, thanks for the update. Glad things are working out for them back home. I will always be a fan.
I actually met someone from Sweden online who had heard of them, but didn't really like that style of music or something.

I think I have loved every Blindside album. They have not dissapointed me yet. I want to pick up the DVD.
I bought the very first album when it came out here in the States and thought it was solid, but skipped the next album and picked up Silence when it came out. I thought that was good too, but I had to sell most of my CD collection to pay some bills and those went out the door.
I didn't think much of Blindside, til I saw they were coming through in concert with Showbread, which I have really taken a liking to. Seeing Blindside in concert was nothing short of AMAZING. Afterwards, I went back out and re-bought (or bought for the first time) all the albums. Fantastic group.

I love how so many people don't think bands' current works are their best. Always comparing it to something else EARLIER in the band's existance. I dunno, we do that here on the Stavesacre board, TO DEATH. Poor Blindside being drawn into this too BTW, I LOVE the DVD. Like two days after I heard it was out, ON THIS BOARD, no less, I KNEW I needed to go out and buy it. Man, the way the crowd reacts to some of their songs...it's mind blowing. Kinda makes you wish you were apart of it, eh? Props and love to Blindside, my second favorite band.

So in your opinion, is Paul Mcartney's solo work better than what he did with the Beatles?
I understand the point you are trying to make, but it's not always true. As an artist, I sometimes make things that I am not as happy with compared to earlier things I have done. If I can feel this way, can't others?

i personally don't like "a thought crushed my mind" or "the great depression" but silence is one of the greatest rock album to be produced in the last 10 years. i have the dvd and it's probably one of the best band dvds out there. definitely worth a buy!

I understand what you're saying, in terms of liking your previous work better sometimes. Sometimes you can't always capture that something special that went into one album again *cough*POD*cough* J/K I love them. ANYways, I mean, if a band wasn't horribly content wih it's effort on a song, I doubt that song would've made the cd.
I dunno, I think Blindside, in particular, has been a band that's always gotten BETTER. I have their first two albums, and I have Silence. Their first two are great stepping stones and show maturing points, but I'm sure Blindside was pretty happy with how Silence turned out.
When people say, they've done this song better, or I thought this single was better than that one, that seems fine, but if we're gonna say, their first two albums were their best, hands down. Well, then they should've stopped making music then. However, I can't SPEAK for Blindside, but I'm sure they're pretty proud of their last few albums, and from the show of INCREASED fan support over the course of those albums, I'd say, most would disagree that while their first two are a treasure, their last few have been AMAZING.

I think their first is the weakest, despite a couple good songs. Happy? ;D and yes, About a Burning Fire is amazingly good. I haven't listened to the Great Depression enough to say it's better than that, but there is some awesome songs on that for sure. And now just for fun : www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IIpC21kIGA
