Next weekend I am going to be a witness to a Zao show for the first time ever! I've been a fan of their's for many years, so I'm naturally so excited about this show that it's freak'n abnormal. I don't know if there's many metal heads on this forum to share my excitement with, but if there is any, please post some encouraging threads about this amazing band we call Zao!
As a side note, should I stretch before the show?

You'll want to stretch and be prepaired to have your face melted off.
Zao is AMAZING.

I'll deffently be stretching and drinking plenty of water for the show. But I wouldn't say my "metal cherry," has been popped, I've been to plenty metal shows, just haven't had the honor to witness Zao in all their glory. Only 6 days away and I can already fill the ground tremble! Oh and did I mention The Agony Scene will be there too, I LOVE SOUTHERN CA!

I saw Zao in October with Every Time I Die and Dillinger Escape Plan. It was weird because MILLIONS of little 13-14 year olds were at the show, and Zao has been around since they were in diapers. It was a good show, but the zao and etid sets were pretty violent. I had to brace myself the whole time.
If Dillinger is playing, i urge you... DO NOT LEAVE EARLY!! Their sets are AWESOME and totally worth seeing. Not sure if it's the same tour though.

I was in high school working on an independent film when Zao's first record came out.
Man, I'm old. I'm gonna be 30 soon. (In five years, but that's not the point.) Ah, young people.

OK, OK people, lets not get side tracked on this thread, it's suppose to be about Zao not how old you are. (even though I understand the humbility of being old.) Anyways... I saw Zao lastnight with a couple buddies who I just recently introduced Zao too. And let me tell you, at the end of the show all three of us were speachless. Zao schooled every band there, and is deffently one of the best live shows I have ever seen nd my two buddies agree. My one friend loved them so much that he is going to see them again tonight in San Diego, I'm going to attempt to accompany him. If you have not gone to see Zao, I urge and beg you to see one the greatest metal shows EVER!
LET THE LEGEND OF ZAO REIGN! (I know, it's corny)

The show started out with a band called If Hope Dies. They were a solid hardcore band, but didn't do much for me, but I had respect for them because they played solid. Next on the line up was The Agony Scene, and I couldn't wait to see them because of their debut album is just amazing, but I was some what let down. I was expecting a solid show, but they were a little messy and unorganized and yes somewhat fun to watch. Next on the list was March of Flames. I have no idea why this band played right before Zao better yet after The Agony Scene. They were pure garbage. My friend was starting to feel sick because of their music and the most entertaining thing I found to do was playing Tetris on my cell phone. This band should of played first on the line up because they were the crapiest and the worse band I have ever seen and my two friends agree. But when Zao finally played, I think everyone in the crowd forgot who played that night, because they completly stole the show and schooled everyband. When you see Zao there is diffently a essence about them that makes you feel everyword, and note that is being played and it connects you to them. I am still speachless about the show.

I have seen zao twice. Once while supporting 'where blood and fire bring rest and peace', which was of course, amazing.
THEN on their farewell tour, where they had pretty much the original lineup from the first time I saw them, and they played 'where blood and fire bring rest and peace' pretty much from start to finish (minus violet of course). This was right after parade of chaos came out, so it was a surprise to hear them play my favorite album of theirs...

i actually just saw zao live a couple weeks ago. they were opening for the juliana theory. for some reason i felt almost priveleged for seeing them because i hear so much about them but yet have never really listened to them. after they came on stage, i realized why i have never listened to them. not that they weren't good - from what i could see they put on a rad performance - but just so much that the screaming thing was killing my head. boy was it killing my head. anyways, after the juliana theory played, they disappeared and then brett (at least i think it was brett) came back and said how he knows he shouldn't be doing this but he's going to anyways, and he breaks out screaming some song. i'm assuming it had something to do with zao. from what i hear he used to be in zao, right? anyways, the crowd loved it and it was definitely neat to see it.
