Hard to say so far. I've only had the cd for the weekend. Future History : Love the song. Don't like the politics though. To each his own.

Even though I havent been a Stavesacre fan half as long as most I find it odd to hear Mark singing about politics in We Say and Future History. I feel weird listening to those songs.

Still not sure where Mark really stands politically (except that he's generally frustrated by the process), but I repsect that he wants to start sharing some of that frustration in his lyrics. Then again, I love bands like downset., Rage Against the Machine, Lamb of God, System of a Down, U2, etc.

Yeah cjc...I know what you mean. I don't pretend to know where Mark really stands either, but 'we say' and 'future history' seems to give a strong indication. (I think I may have to continue this post in the 'off topic' board before I offend anyone jk..sort of....

off the newest, 'fear and love' is my favorite. with 'reason to believe' coming in close second.' along with 'grace'. never mind, there's just too many. but 'fear and love' is probably my favorite.
all time, 'keep waiting.' that song is classic.

Colt .45 is Stavesacre's best song, followed closely by Zzyzx Scarecrow.
Now you all know. ;D

Can't say any one track is enough to say I like it, I more like it in sections. the first 10 minute section being my favorite.
Can't get a feel for lots of the songs cause lyrically I think they lack. Mark is normally a great writer, but this album has not impressed in that respect thus far. To me it's like, here's a bunch of ambiguous phrases, you figure out what it means. Gee thanks, I didn't know this would be a homework assignment. :-(

Easy...."We'll Sort This Out Right Now" Should have been longer with more lyrics. That song musically hits the mark for me. I wish the whole album was more like it.
I felt the same way about "Why Good People Suffer" on the self-titled record.

Off the new album, I feel, The Trouble With Being Born and Grace were tied, and just a notch above that, Kill My Darlings, which leads me to more disappointment in that, I WISH they hadn't given us the best song off the album as a sample.
Honestly, I LOVE this album, don't get me wrong, but to me, no real song jumps out at me like a shining star. Either that or this album didn't have the epic story feel that the others had. Like, first album through self-titled felt like they were dripping with passion and wanted to show you the way to something better, culminating with the last song. This album seemed like a bunch of good songs, and an awesome song to end with, you know what I mean? Even Collective had an aura about it to some extent.
HOWEVER, this IS the prettiest album to appreciate on first-listen, which is why I'm handing it out to all my friends(around 7 copies bought so far, and probably at LEAST 10 more to go, it just depends when Best Buys gets them in), and I'm NOT tired of the album yet by ANY stretch. I've probably listened to it cover to cover *metaphorically* over 300 times. Amazing, huh? I spend a LOT of time in my car. ANYWAYS, long story short, I LOVE it, it sounds great, just lacks a SLIGHT bit of intimacy. However, beautiful on the ears. DEFINITELY. If this album was the last sound I got the privilidge of hearing, then I would cherish it and would never regret it.
