So I'm sitting here thinking of how frustrating places like this can be sometimes. People are quick to judge others. (including myself have done this) Things get thrown out of whack sometimes. There are 320 members here currently. Yeah OK! whatever. How many people have gotten burnt out, and just said to hell with it. This place can get frustrating. Sometimes we try out different thoughts, and we take a wrong turn. Or we make a judgment call about someone. Maybe were right, maybe not. I suppose that's the way the cookie crumbles, right.
I know I'm not the only one that has felt frustrated around here. None of us really know each other, and it's not required that we be a family, but I think the people that do come here, do for the same reason I do. (assumption) It's a place to escape from the real world. We all have our own issues, and I'm not saying my problems are any worse then anyone else.
It's a drag on the ticket when we no longer feel like we can talk about things, or state an opinion, or look for an opinion. I have a thread that I'm wanting to post in which I would like to get some input on. It's a subject that doesn't require being a Christian to get input on. Yet until I vent, I really don't want to say anything at all.
I know we don't live in a perfect world, but I invite people to vent there frustrations on this thread.
All who come here seems to like Stavesacre as a group, and I'm sure all of us are a little bummed that they are not doing better. It really is up to us fans to make a group like Stavesacre make it. I believe maybe if this place was a little more inviting, maybe it would provoke the curiosity of others, and we might get a little more positive attention to the band. Us fans really should try and get along.
Maybe my beliefs are unfounded, and maybe not. Perceptions can be misleading sometimes can't they. Maybe this post will be looked at as a waste of space, but until I say all this, I really don't feel comfortable saying anything at all.
Bottom line. I've said what I've said and now I feel better. So throw the book at me. Tell me no one cares.... :(eehhh who cares.

It does frustrate me that this board isn't more active and I'm not sure why it is the way it is. I know there are fans out there but...........I don't know maybe they've moved on. Maybe they got a bad vibe......This band deserves a good, freindly fan base participating in an active forum. I'm going to keep trying to do what I can to bring that about.

I think you do good with that cjc. I even think TheBrokenCarnage is good about doing so also. TBC gives this place that flip kinda point of view. Dude pisses me off sometimes, but in all reality TBC offers this place a bit of flavor.

I've been staying off the boards (posting wise) because it seems like people are just angrily going after one another, or that they're purposefully derailing threads.

TBC gives this place that flip kinda point of view. Dude pisses me off sometimes, Then my mission here is complete. But seriously, if it weren't for me, this board would be deader (word?) than it already is. I poke and prod to play the devil's advocate (sometimes literally), to get people to think, and to cause general havoc. Reasons why the "320" number isn't truly accurate: 1) typical member inflation. People register for one reason or another, maybe post a message, then never visit again. You get this on any messageboard. Just looking at the stats: ~90 members with 0 posts, ~50 with 1 post, and ~40 with 2 posts. 2) as you mentioned, people (for whatever reason) get pissed off and "quit the board", but don't delete their accounts. 3) the band hasn't been exactly "active" recently. Members get discouraged, leave the boards, but don't delete their accounts. I would assume if there was a "click this link or else we'll delete your account" email sent out, we'd lose ~200 members (at least). And honestly, if you don't like a bit of disagreement/anger, then maybe the world isn't the place for you.

Most forums I frequent involve a lot of bashing and angry (and mocking, so on and so forth, and I don't mind), the atmosphere here has had a noted change over the past year or so, however.

I like it here. It's kinnda funny. There are only about ten consistent members and Stavesacre has been very inactive lately, it seems even the people who run this board are gone, yet we still manage to create threads and keep the acre alive. We're waiting out the draught. We are the faithful, the ones who beleived... that Stavesacre is gonna make a comeback!!

I can agree with that. Good stuff Vineyardite.
As far as TheBrokenCarnage last sentence. True to that also. I don't have to like it, but conflict is part of this life. If we all agreed or functioned in the same manner it would be boring now wouldn't it. Theres nothing wrong with disagreement. It's how we choose to communicate that matters. I appreciate you pointing some things out about yourself. I does help me understand your angle better. There's nothing wrong with giving someone something to think about.
As far as this world. Yeah I suppose if I can't deal with it, I should check out. However, I keep rolling because self pity doesn't get a person anywhere but stuck. I come here to communicate my thoughts because everyone does something to escape the rat race from time to time. Sometimes that might be going to the comic book store. Personally I see nothing wrong with disliking the things I see around me, but accepting them a little more wouldn't hurt ether.

Yep, Tony, Alicia, and Admin haven't been around in a long while (although Admin did log in briefly recently). Hence my rants about this place being a "lawless, desolate wasteland", and "I am your new god!" Pretty much my point about disagreement was that it's everywhere - in the workplace, in the classroom, in the home, etc. So being all uppity about there being a bit of disagreement on the boards is the whole "mountain out of a molehill" thing.

Disagreements are definitly a part of life. It would be a little duller (word?) if you weren't around carnage.

I’m not a big fan of bulletin boards, but here, I find myself intrigued. I am a “kid” that likes books with lots of pictures. “reeding is hard” I came here to see what I could find out about Stavesacre, and why they are not playing, as well as get some fonts, for my kids birthday party invitations. I might ad, was named after Stavesacre, Staven.
Like you speak of, I too was hammered right after my first post. Unlike most, I am not a bitch that goes home and cries to mommy every time someone picks on me.
What would have made the board something to be excited about would have been to have a minimum number of posts before you could get content that was shared. You know the music, backrounds etc. This would keep people who LEECH out. People that are not active for more then 60 days excused. But once you make rules, people loose interest.
Stavesacre was never about rules. They tried to break them. They left a label that promoted positive bands, to get to what they thought would be greener grass, and keep their positive message. They stayed true to themselves and no one else. In the end it may have hurt them. The masses never really got the opportunity to be exposed. Most here were lucky enough to here Stavesacre because of a friend, or was the friend letting all of their friends listen.
In the end if we all lived in the same town we might or might not be friends, who cares. All that matters that we all care enough to stay here and share.

If Carnage is The flavor. (like habenero hot sauce as cjc has put it) you would have to be a curve ball shankle. I'm glad that you have stuck around and posted around here. At first I thought you would play "gone with the wind" But I'm glad you have found yourself intrigued with this place. I too sometimes wonder what makes me keep coming back and posting.
Yet here I am.
